Difference Between Girl and Boy Ultrasound

Girl vs Boy Ultrasound

Ultrasound technique has found many applications. One such use is the sex determination in the fetuses. There are many old wives techniques running to predict the sex of the unborn child. The ultrasound is the most scientific and reliable. The ultrasound is done to check the overall well-being of the unborn child. It is done at around 18 to 22 weeks of age to establish pregnancy. A radiologist or a sonographer can understand the ultrasound.
Every fetus has a protuberance in-between the legs which develops into either a penis and scrotum in case of male child or a clitoris and labia in the case of female child.

Boy Ultrasound
The sex of a baby is determined at the time of conception; however, the exhibition of the external genitals happens at the age of the third trimester of pregnancy.
A male fetus will show a small protrusion in-between the legs of around an inch. It may often be confused with the umbilical cord that also has the same location. A cord may be differentiated from the future penis as the cord is much longer and bigger as compared to the penis. It often represents a turtle shape.
At the age of the second trimester, the sex of the fetus may be determined by the angle of the protuberance between the legs. If there is an angle of greater than 30 degrees, and the child is positioned at the left, then the baby is probably a male child.

Girl Ultrasound
A very obvious sign of a girl child is the absence of a penis.
A girl fetus shows parallel lines in-between the legs representing a future clitoris and labia. For a layman, these may be represented as a sign very similar to a hamburger. In here, the buns of the burger will represent the clitoris of the fetus and the labium is the meat.
Taking account of the angle of the protuberance, the fetus will be a girl child if the fetus is on the right and the nub is horizontally placed almost parallel to the spine.
These are a few signs that may predict the sex of the unborn child. The sex of the child may be best predicted at the fetal age of 13 weeks. Before this, the volume of the amniotic fluid makes it difficult to ascertain the sex, and after that, the child is too curled up to show the genitals.
Summary:

1.A baby boy has a small protuberance between the legs resembling a turtle which are the future penis and scrotum while a baby girl will show a hamburger-like structure that are the future clitoris and labia.
2.The protuberance of the boy child is greater than 30 degrees while for a girl child it is more parallel to the body.
